All users of System 7.0 or above MUST utilize Foreign File Access version 1.1.1d2 or above! The version of Foreign File Access that was previously provided to CDA-431 on the distribution disk is NOT compatible with System 7.0 and must be removed from the system folder. Chinon is now shipping version 1.1.1d2 of Foreign File Access on the CDA-431 distribution disk (along with the toggle cache version of CDinit).
To replace an older version of Foreign File Access on a System 7.0 volume:
1) Open the system folder and remove the Foreign File Access init only (not the associated format files). If you do not find this file directly in the system folder, it has been moved to the extensions folder, within the system folder.
2) Close the system folder
3) Select all of the Foreign File Access files (the init and three format files) and deposit them on top of the system folder.
4) You will be notified that the init should be placed into the extensions folder...click OK and the file will automatically be place there.
5) Restart your Macintosh
To replace an older version of CDinit on a System 7.0 volume:
1) Select the appropriate init for your Macintosh (Mac Plus or MacII) and deposit it on top of the system folder.
2) You will be notified that the init should be placed into the extensions folder...click OK and the file will automatically be place there.
